UAE – Mubasher: The 30th edition of Arabian Travel Market (ATM) will take place at Dubai World Trade Centre (DWTC) during 1-4 May 2023 under the theme Working Towards Net Zero.

The four-day event will feature more than 150 speakers across 63 sessions, where global travel professionals and policymakers will outline the efforts exerted to drive decarbonisation within the sector, according to a press release.

Ministers from the UAE, Bahrain, Oman, Jordan, Jamaica, and Spain will take part in a host of senior figures from the private sector to present sustainable innovations, share knowledge and best practice, in addition to exploring opportunities and challenges.

It is expected that exhibitor participation in ATM 2023 will be 27% higher compared to the 2022 event.

Exhibition Director ME at ATM, Danielle Curtis, commented: “We intend to use the 30th edition of ATM to address one of the most significant challenges facing our sector.”

Curtis added: “Increased participation in this year’s show not only reflects the seriousness with which global tourism professionals and policymakers are taking sustainability, but also rising demand for leisure and business travel across the Middle East and beyond.”

Over 2,000 exhibitors will take part in ATM 2023 besides 34,000 attendees from more than 150 countries.

Curtis noted: “We are delighted that such a diverse selection of ministerial and industry speakers will be joining us for the 30th edition of ATM 2023,” adding: “We look forward to learning how they are working to achieve net zero within their respective tourism markets, as our industry comes together to showcase the cutting-edge innovations and solutions that are driving the next generation of sustainable travel in the Middle East and beyond.”

The ATM Travel Tech Stage will return to ATM event this year to showcase how latest innovations like artificial intelligence (AI), the metaverse, cryptocurrency, and big data are driving environmentally responsible tourism.

The brand-new Sustainability Hub will feature sessions on the latest sustainable travel trends and innovations and offer the backdrop for the ATM 2023 Start-up Competition, which is an event hosted by conference partner Plug and Play to see entrepreneurs go head-to-head in a Sustainable Tech Pitch Battle.

The event aims to offer a platform for regional experts to explore a sustainable future ahead of COP28, which will kick off at Expo City Dubai in November 2023.

ATM 2023 is held in conjunction with Dubai World Trade Centre, with Dubai’s Department of Economy and Tourism (DET) being the Destination Partner, Emirates as the Official Airline Partner, IHG Hotels & Resorts as the Official Hotel Partner, and Al Rais Travel as the Official DMC Partner.

According to the Business Travel Index Outlook annual forecast and outlook 2022 from the Global Business Travel Association (GBTA), the region’s business travel spending will likely return to pre-pandemic levels by 2024 after it hit $933 billion worldwide a year ago.
